Stilbite is a sodium, calcium, aluminum silicate that grows in the cavities of large basalt lava flows. Large deposits of it are found in Iceland. Stilbite forms as a tabular (top part larger than bottom) crystal that commonly is twined (two crystals growing together as a pair). Stilbite often resembles a bow tie or a sheaf of wheat. This gentle looking mineral wears white, colorless, cream, pink and flamingo.
Stilbite is a highly creative stone that opens the intuition and carries a loving and supportive vibration in any endeavor. The name Stilbite comes from the Greek word "stil bein" meaning "to shine."
