vintage-colibri-firebird-flipper-gold-tone-butane-lighter-untested
Vintage Colibri Firebird Flipper Gold Tone Butane Lighter UNTESTED

A slim gold-tone column with a brushed crosshatch finish. One face is framed in bright silver-tone diamond knurling, and a ridged roller sits at the side like a small piece of machined jewelry. The Firebird line was Colibri’s Japanese-made division. This design is from the 1970s, when the flip-top butane lighter was a pocket accessory as considered as a cigarette case or a compact. It’s slender enough for an evening bag and graphic enough to display on a vanity or bar cart.

Materials
Gold-tone and silver-tone metal

Details

Era: 1970s

Markings: Stamped “Firebird Flipper by Div of Colibri Japan” on the base

Style / design notes: Brushed crosshatch gold-tone body, silver-tone diamond-knurled border on one face, knurled striker roller and flame adjustment wheel, polished silver-tone base

Function: Flip-top butane lighter, refillable through the valve on the base, UNTESTED, could need lighter fluid or more to be in working condition.

Color: Gold, silver

Condition: Good vintage condition.
