A single faux pearl rests beneath the cap like a drop of moonlight caught in a lantern. The open, tapered frame lets light slip between the panels, so the pearl seems to float. It hangs from a fine 18" cable chain and sits just below the collarbone.

Materials
Gold-tone metal with damascene inlay, faux pearl

Details

Era: 1950s–1960s

Style / design notes: Toledo-style damascene bell cap with four tapered panels in floral and beaded cross patterns, holding a single pearl drop

Stone or material notes: Faux pearl

Function: Pendant necklace with magnetic clasp

Color: Gold, black, silvery white, pearl

Condition: Good vintage condition, with wear to the pearl coating, gold-tone wear on the cap edges, and a small spot of discoloration at the top of the cap

Measurement: Chain 18", pendant 0.75"

Collected by Mineral and Matter

https://mineralandmatter.com/products/vintage-damascene-faux-pearl-pendant-necklace-gold-and-black-bell-cap-drop
