Made in Spain in the 1960s–1970s, the pendant carries the Toledo damascene tradition of gold and silver inlaid against a black ground. The layered frame and moving center give it depth and gentle motion as it catches the light. Geometric yet softly ornate, it layers beautifully with gold chains.

Materials
Gold-tone and silver-tone damascene on blackened metal, gold-tone chain

On a new chain

Details

Era: 1960s–1970s

Markings: Spain on back

Style / design notes: Beveled open diamond frame with scrolling vine motifs and a swinging fan-shaped center drop

Stone or material notes: Gold and silver-tone inlay on a black ground

Function: Spring ring clasp on chain (chain is not original)

Color: Gold, silver, black

Condition: Good vintage condition, gold-tone wear to the back of the center drop

Measurement: Pendant 1.25", chain 18"

Collected by Mineral and Matter

https://mineralandmatter.com/products/vintage-spanish-damascene-diamond-pendant-necklace-with-fan-drop
