These Selenite specimens are cut and polished into a pyramid shape with a square base that makes them perfect for displaying.  They are a semi-opaque white color and have a satin-like shimmer that creates the illusion of light shining from within the crystal.

While Selenite is a common name for this specimen, it is actually a variety of the mineral Gypsum, which forms as a result of water evaporation and a secondary crystallization process that produces a satin spar crystalline structure.  Selenite too, is another variety of Gypsum but all their names have become synonymous over time, despite their differences.

Satin Spar Selenite or Gypsum is an extremely powerful light and energy conductor that can help overcome and move past physical, emotional, and spiritual stagnation by purifying and cleansing negative energy and providing positive rejuvenating energy in its place.  Allow it to soak up the light of the moon to amplify its metaphysical properties!

This interesting specimen of Dogtooth spar features an abundance of large crystal points that are dark brown, gray, and translucent white in color and fan out from a natural dark gray-brown crystalline calcite base.

Dogtooth Spar or Dogtooth Calcite forms in caves as a result of the separation of calcite from water and has a crystalline structure that is made of twelve irregular triangular sides, known as a scalenohedron. It is this formation that gives these crystals their unique spiky dog tooth-like appearance.

It is named for mirroring the shape of the turrets fortifying ancient castles, walls, and cathedrals. Although they may look as though they are made of multiple different crystals, they are all formations of one main crystal.
