History of the Brand: Lucien Piccard & Dufonte
Founded in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1923, Lucien Piccard quickly gained a reputation for crafting some of the world's most coveted slimline watches. The brand reached legendary status in the mid-20th century, worn by royalty, world leaders, and icons like Frank Sinatra.
The Dufonte line was later introduced to expand the brand's reach. It maintained the signature Lucien Piccard "fashion-forward" aesthetic and craftsmanship while offering a more accessible price point for the burgeoning luxury fashion market.
The bezel is adorned with genuine diamond chips. In watchmaking, "chips" (also known as melee diamonds or accents) are small, authentic diamond fragments that may not be fully symmetrical like a traditional brilliant cut.
  • Authenticity: Despite their small size, these are real diamonds.
  • Purpose: They are used by designers to provide an elegant, understated sparkle that enhances the watch's design without the massive price tag of larger faceted stones.
