A fully realized owl in miniature — its face rendered in vivid yellow and cobalt blue cloisonné enamel, wide black eyes staring forward, a gold beak catching the light between them. Below the face, the body opens into a field of white enamel scales punctuated by a red and green floral motif, the gold wire cloisons mapping every detail with the patience the technique demands. Handcrafted in China in brass and enamel, these figural thimbles were made as collectibles as much as functional objects — this one is intact and vibrant, the colors unfaded. A small, satisfying thing.
