Lemurian Quartz can be identified by the unique horizontal striations in its crystalline structure that makes it more fragile than traditional quartz. It was discovered in Brazil and originally given the name Lemurian Seed Crystal because its fragility caused larger crystals to fall from cave roofs and shatter, making it appear as though the floors were covered in crystal seeds.

Dogtooth Spar or Dogtooth Calcite forms in caves as a result of the separation of calcite from water and has a crystalline structure that is made of twelve irregular triangular sides, known as a scalenohedron. It is this formation that gives these crystals their unique spiky dog tooth-like appearance.
