Brand History & Significane
Origins: The brand was founded in 1942 in NYC by Robert Levy, David Jaffee, and Irving Landsman. It was originally called the Fashioncraft Jewelry Company before being renamed to Robert Originals, Inc. in 1951.
  • Handmade Quality: Every "Original by Robert" piece was made by hand, leading to unique and high-quality items. The company even supplied jewelry to the motion picture industry, including pieces for the 1952 film Viva Zapata.
  • The "Haskell" Connection: Their style is often compared to the famous Miriam Haskell, frequently featuring intricate gilding, faux pearls, and hand-wired filigree

This locket brooch is a vintage black cameo that likely dates from the 1930s to the 1950s.
