Vintage Multicolor Carved Glass Scarab Circle Brooch — Egyptian Revival, 1950s–60s
Seven carved glass scarabs in a full spectrum of jewel tones — sky blue, emerald green, burgundy, red, black, blush pink, and cobalt — circle a gold-tone open frame, each beetle separated by a polished gold ball. The scarab has carried symbolic weight since ancient Egypt, where it represented regeneration and protection; mid-century American jewelers revived the form enthusiastically, producing scarab jewelry that borrowed the iconography with genuine craft. The carved detail on each beetle is clean and distinct, the colors vivid and intact. A complete circle with no missing stones — increasingly rare to find.
