A hand-painted porcelain plaque set into a scalloped gold-tone bezel that doubles as a brooch and pendant. Two soft blush peonies are painted against a wash of sky blue, their petals rendered with the delicate, unhurried brushwork that defines mid-century Scandinavian porcelain at its best. Founded in 1853 in Copenhagen, Bing & Grøndahl was granted the title of purveyor to the Royal Danish Court — a standard of craft reflected even in small wearable pieces like this one. Marked B&G on the reverse with the castle mark. A wearable piece of Danish porcelain history.
