Description
A pair of 1940s–1950s screw back earrings, each a small rectangular stone carved into a stylized mask face. The dark stone shows a smoky golden translucence at its edges, like light passing through volcanic glass. Carved faces like these were a staple of mid-century Mexican jewelry, drawing on pre-Columbian imagery. Small and understated, with silver-tone screw backs for non-pierced ears.
Materials
Carved dark stone (appears to be obsidian), silver-tone metal
