Description
A pair of 1960s–1970s damascene earrings shaped like Spanish castanets, each showing a towered city beneath a crescent moon and scattered stars. Damascene work, long associated with Toledo, sets fine gold-tone lines against a blackened ground to draw scenes in miniature. A beaded border frames each one, with a scrolled motif at the top. Small and light on simple ear wires.
Materials
