A gold-tone frog climbs upward mid-leap, its textured limbs stretched wide. Its back is enameled in a deep violet stripe edged in forest green, and small blue rhinestone eyes catch the light. Lifelike animal brooches like this were a 1980s favorite, playful yet carefully modeled. The dimensional body and pebbled skin give it real character, and it looks as if it’s climbing up a lapel or the shoulder of a coat.
