Description
This single strand of faux pearls grows from fine seed-sized beads at the clasp to full, luminous pearls at the center, the way a crescent moon swells to full. It dates to the 1950s–1960s, when Japan was producing finely coated glass pearls for export. The graduated shape sits naturally at the base of the throat, and an engraved silver-tone box clasp finishes it neatly. It works on its own or layered with chains and pendants, as shown.
