A small rectangular dial with slim Roman numerals, blued steel hands, and tiny clear and red stone accents sits within a wide bracelet of stepped gold-tone brick links. It looks more like a cuff than a wristwatch. Lucerne made these jewelry-style dress watches through the 1950s, when a ladies’ watch was meant to be as decorative as it was useful. It still runs on its original wind-up movement. The broad, flexible links catch the light like sun on stacked stone.
