A large faux pearl rests at the center of this brooch like a full moon, flanked by smaller pearl petals and seed pearl accents. It dates to the 1980s and is made in the Victorian revival style. The frame is shaped like a pointed shield and edged with beading, embossed scrollwork and openwork finials. Even the back is stamped with a swirling acanthus pattern, a detail most people will never see. The piece looks romantic on a lapel or the collar of a soft blouse.
