Description
A large faux pearl rests at the center of this brooch, with layers of curling petals radiating out like the rays of a small sun. It is a Spanish damascene piece from the 1950s–1960s, made in the Toledo tradition. Each petal is inlaid with gold-tone scrollwork and edged in a fine silver-tone dotted texture. The two tiers of petals give it real depth, and it catches warm light from every angle. Pin it to a coat lapel, a scarf, or the shoulder of a simple knit.
